Through Your Eyes

A poem for my son

Down on my knees

I see the world through your eyes

How you buzz at the bees

And wave sweet good byes

You dance in the kitchen

And bring objects to life

Not a care in the world

No stress, pain, or strife

A soft and round belly

Hair that is constantly sweaty

Each glimpse at you

Is like a toss of confetti

Every evening I pray

For yet another day

That I’ll be down on my knees

Seeing the world through your eyes
